I currently serve the Advanced Technologies department of BWXT as a nuclear test engineer. My role consists of aiding in the design and implementation of advanced, industry leading reactor designs. Our current projects include mobile, semi-autonomous, reactors for the US Army, and reactors which will allow us to further explore space. Specifically, my work involves the generation and execution of test procedures which will inform the design process, and verify the satisfaction of design criteria provided by the customer. This includes development of test articles to collect data that will be compared to software simulations. It also encompasses final design verification on-site to prove successful product delivery.
