About Dragos Manolescu

For over a decade I\'ve been designing, building and evolving distributed micro services using Scala and Akka/Pekko, Cassandra, Kafka and Spark. Time and again I got excellent results from applying Scala\'s mix of object-oriented and functional features. I have a proven track record of augmenting Scala with the asynchronous programming model of actors. The combination has consistently enabled me to craft and deliver elegant designs using high-level building blocks such as clusters, failure detectors, distributed data and pub-sub, persistent actors, and reactive streams. Most recently I\'ve been applying machine learning, graph databases, and my doctoral research on workflow to build smart and agentic distributed services.
