Senior physician, teacher, author, columnist, health communicator working with 1700-bedded government-run teaching hospital and medical college in New Delhi. • Been a National Consultant for WHO, and several international organisations, including Wolters-Kluwer, Elsevier Health, Mayo Clinic Health Books (Asia edition), Aga Khan Foundation, and several apex institutions. • Advisor for Med Comm Projects • Editor for Medical Journals: including JOSH, abridged Indian Editions of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Transplant Times etc. • Author of popular books on health and medicine, neoliterate education books, children’s books, training modules, scientific works, medical journals, and innovative development reports. • Columnist: regular health columns in leading Hindi and English national dailies and periodicals since 1981. These health columns go all across the country—to children, youth and elders; school and college students, adults and neo-literates, and to those living in villages, small towns and cities—in their native language. • Published Works both in Hindi and English, many of them have been translated into a number of Indian languages, besides Japanese and Chinese. Till date, authored 47 books (which have sold over 15 lakh copies), more than 1,500 health science articles, and chapters in school textbooks. • Writings have appeared in country’s largest-circulated Hindi and English dailies and periodicals, including Hindustan Times, Indian Express, India Today, Hindustan, Malyalam Manorama Year Book, Jansatta, Navbharat Times, Sandhya Times, Amar Ujala, Reader’s Digest, Swagat, Femina, Caravan, Woman\'s Era, Sarita, and Grihshobha since the early 1980s. • Mission: 1. to make learning a joy for medical students and physicians; and 2. to reach out to the common man, educate people about the basics of good health, and dissect the naïveté, superstitions and myths through lucid, simple-to-understand, analytical and holistic writing.
