The transformation to a carbon-neutral economy requires an adjustment of the way we work and do business. Apart from massive investments into transformative technologies and infrastructure a corporate company culture is key that ensures the capacity to act despite persistently incomplete information. The transformative task entails new dimensions in the relationship between business and politics: When companies add \"real-world impact\" to their existing steering parameters \"returns\" and \"risk\" they inevitably become more political. And politicians are well advised to focus on the criteria of scalability and exportability. Political solutions are needed at national, European and international level that prevent first mover disadvantages and address chicken-and-egg problems and other causes for technological lock-ins. To meet the challenges at the required speed, I believe in dialogue and agile collaboration formats between policymakers, the real economy and the financial sector. All views expressed here are my personal ones.
