ABOUT WENDY SEALY

Dr Sealy has worked in the corporate event industry for over 37 years and has served in senior managerial positions for Marriott Hotels and Resorts in Barbados and the USA. She was also Groups and Incentives Manager for Almond Beach Resorts and the General Manager of Island Magic Barbados. She has staged and managed events for celebrities, heads of state, royalty and large corporate entities including Bausch and Lomb, Glaxco Pharmaceuticals, American Express, Georgio Beverly Hills, Eli Lilly, MCI Petersfield, General Portfolio, Carlson Marketing Group, Maritz Travel and many others. Dr Sealy has also worked in marketing and public relations for many firms. Wendy, who taught travel, tourism and events management at the University of Chichester for 14 years specialises in the aesthetic design, operational, logistical and safety planning of corporate events, exhibitions, conferences, employee team building, award ceremonies, themed celebratory parties, festivals, gala events, and weddings. Wendy’s consultancy offers support for companies and event organisers in the styling of venues, development of operations plans, risk assessments and security and crowd management planning which meets the local and national regulatory requirements. The consultancy service also offers training in several areas of event and hospitality management. With over 37 years experience Wendy has planned music festivals, conferences, exhibitions, festivals, gala dinners, weddings and themed events including murder mysteries and corporate team building events.Wendy is also a conference speaker who has written and published several books and journal articles on event management, tourism marketing, sports tourism, event health and safety management. She has done keynote speeches at many academic and industry conferences in the UK, Hong Kong, Nepal, Greece, the University of Oxford and others.
