ABOUT UMER MAJEED KHAJA

I am Dr. Umer Majeed Khaja, a Cancer Biologist (PhD in Zoology – Cancer Biology) with research expertise in colorectal cancer prevention and treatment. My doctoral thesis, titled “Evaluation of Ameliorating Potential of Rheum webbianum Rhizome Extracts on 1,2-Dimethylhydrazine-Induced Colorectal Carcinogenesis in Swiss Albino Rats,” focused on integrating in vitro and in vivo models to investigate natural product-based therapeutics and their role in modulating key molecular pathways involved in colorectal carcinogenesis. I am a recipient of the AACR Global Scholar-in-Training Award (GSITA-2025) from the American Association for Cancer Research, a recognition that highlights my contributions to cancer research on an international platform. I actively contribute to the scientific community as a Certified Peer Reviewer for leading Elsevier journals, including Journal of Ethnopharmacology and Phytomedicine. My research interests span cancer biology, translational oncology, molecular characterization of colorectal cancer, immunotherapy, and natural product-based drug discovery. I aim to advance cancer prevention and treatment strategies while fostering global scientific collaboration.
