ABOUT TZUNG-EN HSIEH

Since 4 years ago, I worked as a researcher in Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie (HZB). During the process, I managed to handle our sub-project within a DFG project (SFB 1452: Catalysis at Liquid Interfaces (CLINT)), which investigate a novel catalysts utilized in petrochemical industry and hydrogen energy industry. I specialize not only in catalyst optimization and design research but also in project management, including research proposal preparation, defense, and execution. In terms of techniques, I have developed a new methodology within my group for in-system preparation and investigation of model catalysts with physical-vapor-deposition (PVD) and X-ray excited spectroscopy (XPS/HAXPES/XAS), enabling me to actively pursue collaborations. Throughout my projects, I integrate and apply various spectroscopic and microscopic techniques to drive progress effectively.As part of a large-scale research project, I have developed the ability to identify critical scientific questions and efficiently allocate resources from various collaborative groups to ensure the project\'s success. Throughout collaborations, I emphasize open-minded communication and joint problem-solving, often taking the initiative alongside my mentor to drive these efforts forward.
