ABOUT RAÚL TRUJILLO ÁLVAREZ

Urban water networks lose 126 billion m³ of water every year—enough to supply drinking water to 800 million people. Most of it disappears through pressure failures, aging infrastructure, and systems never designed for the way cities actually grew.I\'m a Civil Engineer (Dr-Ing.) who has spent more than twenty years tackling that challenge. I design hydraulic systems and pressure management solutions that reduce water loss by 30–50%, lower energy consumption, and extend network life by decades—not through idealized models, but through physics-based design and field-validated engineering. What I do:I solve hydraulic problems that standard methods can\'t. Pressure transients destroying pipes. Networks losing half their supply before it reaches consumers. Utilities struggling to modernize infrastructure that\'s been patched for fifty years. I model the hydraulics, diagnose failure modes, and engineer systems that survive real operating conditions—not just design conditions.Where I do it:As Senior Global Consultant – Technical Solutions & Innovation at VAG-Group, I lead R&D and digital transformation initiatives for smart water systems and provide technical consulting for complex pressure management projects across Europe and Latin America. Previously, as Regional Sales Director for Latin America, I built long-term partnerships with utilities and public agencies—learning firsthand how engineering meets procurement, policy, and thirty-year budget cycles. How I work:Domain-driven design applied to water infrastructure. Start with the physics. Model the system. Validate in the field. Design for the next generation, not the next tender. My approach integrates network modeling, system optimization, and hydraulic precision with the strategic insight needed to make change possible at utility scale.Fluent in German, English, and Spanish. If you\'re facing challenges in water loss, pressure control, or infrastructure modernization—let\'s talk.
