Ensuring an Effective Sourcing Approach which involves validating tool shop capability, identifying capable tool shops to ensure competitive bidding. Making sure transparency is guaranteed through the use of Tool Break Down Sheets and finalizing timely negotiations to support Program Finance Freeze. Developing strategies for sourcing tools in collaboration with the Purchasing team and ensure their successful execution. Coordinating the Global Product Development System (GPDS) Part Pedigree Deliverables for all build events. Ensuring that production tool timing and plans align with the homeline delivery of tools for Time to Tool (TT) requirements. Creating analytical tools and strategies to achieve Best in Class (BIC) tool performance and timing, utilizing Shop Performance Analytics, Benchmarking, shop development plans, Market Intelligence, Tool Timing Supermatrix, target setting, competitive bidding, and Low-Cost Country sourcing. Responsible for cost status and targets in coordination with GVT buyers, program management, engineering, cost estimating, and purchasing teams. Identify key opportunities for improving efficiency in vendor tooling. Collaborating closely with the Vendor Tooling Purchasing Buyer to ensure efficient tooling delivery. Serving as the primary point of contact for technical issues with suppliers and engineering on global vehicle programs for assigned commodities. Resolving emerging issues by engaging engineering, program management, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), purchasing, Cost Engineering (CE), part suppliers, and tool suppliers to meet GPDS timing deliverables with required pedigree parts.
