ABOUT TERRY GOODY
I am a highly experienced chemicals regulatory scientist, with over 20 years’ experience as a technical expert within the UK regulatory authority and in consultancy. I am most experienced in pesticides but have also worked in biocides and feed additives and am interested in working in other regulatory regimes. My expertise is in the areas of technical specification, physicochemical properties, analytical methods, metabolism and residues, maximum residue levels and consumer exposure, but with good exposure to other technical areas and with project management and business development experience. In the UK regulatory authority I wrote the chemistry, analytical methods and residues sections of the EU & national assessments for pesticide active substances and products under Directive 91/414/EEC and Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009; evaluated applications for the setting of maximum residues levels (MRLs) under Regulation (EC) No 396/2005; trained regulatory specialists from accession EU member states; represented the UK at peer review meetings held at the European Food Safety Authority; coached new staff; delivered training workshops; held responsibility for adjuvants; and contributed to policy. As regulatory affairs manager in a small agrochemicals company I defended the company’s product authorisations including leading pre-submission meetings with the regulatory authorities. As a consultant I have prepared dossiers in Word and IUCLID format in support of pesticide and biocide active substance and products registrations, including project management and coordinating task force submissions.I have an exemplary academic record including the receipt of academic prizes, a strong grounding in chemistry and molecular biology, and experience of working in both the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries.
