Taralkar is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Coordinator – Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at MIT Academy of Engineering (formerly Maharashtra Academy of Engineering), Alandi, Pune. He brings a distinctive blend of chemical engineering expertise, academic leadership, and business analytics, enabling data-driven decision-making, strategic planning, and institutional excellence.He has completed an Integrated Programme in Business Analytics from IIM Indore and actively practices business analysis and analytics-based frameworks in academic administration, research management, accreditation processes, and performance optimization. His work supports evidence-based planning, outcome assessment, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.Dr. Taralkar possesses extensive technical expertise in solid–liquid extraction (herbal and bioactive compounds), ultrafiltration and membrane separation processes (flat sheet and hollow fiber membranes), reaction engineering, and process modeling and simulation. He is proficient in Aspen HYSYS and has successfully delivered specialized add-on courses and hands-on training programs in process engineering and simulation.A strong research leader, he has successfully completed sponsored research and consultancy projects exceeding ₹50 lakhs, funded by various government funding agencies and industrial organizations. His scholarly contributions include 17 publications in reputed international peer-reviewed journals, 2 book chapters, 32 papers in national and international conference proceedings, and 2 patents.Dr. Taralkar has organized multiple national and international conferences and has conducted numerous seminars, workshops, and faculty development programs on recent advancements in chemical engineering and engineering education. He also serves as a reviewer and referee for leading international journals, actively contributing to the global research ecosystem.His areas of specialization and professional interest include separation technologies, solid–liquid extraction, membrane processes, mathematical modeling, process engineering, business analytics in higher education, and NBA/NAAC accreditation systems.
