ABOUT SUE DAVIES
When funding is tight it is even more important to manage what is available well. I enjoy teaching practical management skills that are appropriate to the operational context. I love a clear strategic plan, a well written project brief, and meaningful performance indicators. My professional background is in the museum, archive and heritage sector. I have worked as a museum director, a curator, a development officer and as a project manager. My non-executive experience includes five years as a trustee of the National Trust and four years on National Lottery Heritage Fund committees. My recent research focuses on measuring performance in the non-profit cultural heritage sector. I am also interested in making better use of our historic collections, which includes multiple interpretations and celebrating diverse histories. I believe in the value of understanding the past and using that knowledge to learn and inspire.
