ABOUT SUDHIR KSHIRSAGAR

Dr. Kshirsagar has over 35 years of professional experience in the fields of civil and environmen-tal engineering, computer modeling, Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud Computing that is appli-cable to the areas of hydrologic planning and engineering, homeland security, decision support systems, and management information warehousing. He has managed and directed several key projects in these areas, and he is specially trained in project management methodologies for in-formation systems development and support. In his recent contributions to the US EPA projects, Dr. Kshirsagar has successfully modified the SWMM groundwater flow code to enable advanced representation of the flux movement in and out the conduits, led the upgrade of the Riverine Spill Modeling System (RSMS) to a web-based platform that is being used by ORSANCO, created a PFAS database management system for capturing the results from analytical instruments. He has also contributed the Python-based GEMM and related web system development efforts. Over the past few years, Dr. Kshirsagar has led GQC’s internal R&D for the HydroTrek smart modeling tools for drinking water, wastewater, stormwater and source water. His current focus is on the development of innovative low-cost environmental sensors, the development of an IoT platform to manage data generated by these sensors, and the integration of these online datasets into smart models. The Raspberry Pi based CANARY system developed by GQC won the Con-fluence W prize, and the nitrate sensing system developed by the HydroTrek team won the third prize for at the Lake Erie challenge. The team led by Dr. Kshirsagar consisting of Cincinnati MSD and Aptim representation was recognized for their key contributions in using Internet of Things and advanced LoRaWAN telemetry for the WEF LIFT challenge.
