ABOUT STEVEN AUMEIER

Dr. Aumeier currently serves as Senior Advisor for strategic programs and nuclear engineer at Idaho National Laboratory. In this role, he is responsible for strategic program and partnership development to advance U.S. energy and economic security. He is also the Founder and Director of the Frontiers Initiative and co-founder and INL lead for the Emerging Energy Markets Analysis Initiative, both strategic initiatives focused on strengthening U.S. competitiveness in a low emissions economy. Before serving in these roles, Dr. Aumeier was the Associate Laboratory Director for Energy and Environment, where he was responsible for broad energy, transportation, and advanced manufacturing engineering research programs; founding Director of Nuclear Nonproliferation Division; founding Director of Energy Systems Division; and Director of the Center for Advanced Energy Studies at Idaho National Laboratory and former Deputy Associate Laboratory Director for Engineering Research and Deputy Associate Laboratory Director for National Security Programs at Argonne National Laboratory. Through these roles and over three decades of service in the national laboratory system, Dr. Aumeier has provided innovative leadership in business, management, contract management, operations, and research roles spanning national and homeland security, advanced energy technology and systems research, nuclear energy technology, and university research partnerships. He is a recognized expert and thought leader in technology, business, and clean energy and national security strategies. Dr. Aumeier holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from The University of Michigan (1994) and an MBA from The University of Chicago (2002) and holds DOE \"Q\"(TS) and SCI security clearances.
