ABOUT SIEGWART BOGATSCHER
I have over 15 years of experience in the fields of optical sensing, automotive LiDAR and autonomous driving. During my Ph.D. studies at KIT I realized a novel MEMS based LiDAR demonstrator in collaboration with ELOVIS GmbH. This concept was patented by KIT and ELOVIS. I worked at Bosch for over 5 years as a LiDAR system architect and system engineer. In 2018 I took over the team lead of the LiDAR system engineering team as a product owner. Moreover, I joined start-ups in the field, such as RoboSense (2020 to 2021) and LeddarTech (2021 to 2023). Currently I am in the role of Senior Technical Expert LiDAR at Torc Robotics since May 2023.With these different positions, engineering cultures and perspectives, I gained a deep technical insight into the automotive LiDAR market, rapid and iterative development methods as well as complex, inter-disciplinary decision making. I constantly strive to learn more about the fascinating field of LiDAR and autonomous driving. I hold over 30 filed or accepted patents/inventions.
