ABOUT SIDDHANT DHINGRA
I recently completed my DPhil in Chemistry at the University of Oxford, where my work focused on mechanistic and biocatalytic studies of 2-oxoglutarate oxygenases, particularly ethylene-forming enzymes. My research combined enzymology, structural biology, and protein engineering to develop sustainable catalytic approaches for small-molecule synthesis and to advance fundamental understanding of non-haem iron chemistry.I am now continuing this trajectory as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, working at the interface of enzyme discovery, directed evolution, and chemical biology. I’m motivated by opportunities that translate academic research into real-world applications across biotechnology, agriculture, and sustainable chemistry, and I enjoy collaborating across disciplines to deliver meaningful impact.Alongside research, I value leadership and community-building, having served as MCR President at Oxford, and I remain enthusiastic about mentoring, outreach, and contributing to inclusive scientific and student communities.
