ABOUT SHILPA K.
Dr. Shilpa Kumari is a Scientist- E at CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur, holds a B.Tech Degree in Chemical Engineering, an M.Tech in Environmental Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Engineering, and has expertise in areas such as Green Hydrogen, Solar energy utilisation technologies, Reduced-emission firecrackers, Emission monitoring, and Waste management. She has led over 15 major research projects sponsored by ministries and industries, contributing to innovations like Green Crackers, which won the CSIR Technology Award in 2021. Dr. Kumari has mentored over 15 graduate and postgraduate students in completing their dissertations and has published extensively, including HIF SCI publications, design registrations, and patents. Her societal work includes mass awareness about menstrual waste management and disinfection solutions, and mask distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic. A recognized expert, she has been an invited speaker at various national and international prestigious forums and received a DST Travel Grant in 2024. Dr. Kumari is actively involved with the IUCN and OWSD and holds certifications in ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, and Project management & planning. Recently, she has been invited by TWAS- CASAREP and ESTIC 2025 as a Young Scientist and Leader. She has also been recognised among the top 3 Nominees for IGCW 2025 Awards in the Knowledge Community - Researchers for her work in the area of Green Engineering & Sustainability. She is also recognised as an Assistant Professor for Engineering Sciences at AcSIR for coursework on \" Energy Conversion & Environment\". She is also serving as a panel member of the BIS committee Panel EED 08: Panel 6 – “ To formulate IS on Small Incinerators for Sanitary Napkins\".
