I didn’t come to this work because I had it figured out. I came to it because I didn’t.I’m Sham, Dr Shamama Mir, a practising GP, Certified High Performance Coach, and sole parent who has navigated burnout, major life transitions, and the kind of rock-bottom moments that quietly reshape everything.I know what it feels like to be the person everyone else relies on, whilst quietly running on empty yourself. As a doctor, I was trained to fix others. Nobody taught me how to recognise when I was the one who needed support.That journey, through burnout, rebuilding, and rediscovering what I was truly capable of, is what led me to coaching. And it’s why I bring something to this work that credentials alone can’t give you: I’ve walked it.What I also bring is the science. Chronic stress physically remodels the brain, dysregulating the very systems we rely on for focus, decision-making, and emotional regulation. Burnout isn’t weakness. It’s neurobiology. And crucially, it’s reversible.But here’s what I’ve come to believe most deeply: the most powerful medicine is preventative. We don’t have to wait until breakdown to intervene. Nutritional psychiatry, metabolic health, lifestyle medicine. These are not soft add-ons. They are the frontier of where mental and physical health converge. And they remain the most underutilised tools in modern healthcare.I work with professionals, executives, and high-achievers who are functioning well on the outside but know something fundamental needs to shift, before it shifts for them. My approach blends clinical expertise in ADHD, preventative and metabolic health, nutritional psychiatry, and EMDR with evidence-based coaching.
