ABOUT SASI GOPALAN

As a Professor at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) for over 21 years, I have been dedicated to advancing the field of mathematics through research and education. I have supervised seven PhD candidates to completion and currently guide four more, demonstrating my commitment to nurturing the next generation of mathematicians. Additionally, I am a member of the Syndicate at CUSAT and the Chairman of the Board of Studies in the Mathematics department, further contributing to the academic excellence of the institution. My research has resulted in over 60 publications, showcasing my expertise and passion for mathematical analysis and computational mathematics.Beyond academia, I actively bridge the gap between theory and practice through strategic industry collaborations. I have successfully established three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with national and international industries, fostering collaborative research and development.Furthermore, I serve as an industrial consultant, guiding postdoctoral fellows in the development of optimized algorithms for real-world applications.My commitment to practical innovation extends to mentoring students in industry-funded projects. I have secured three such projects, empowering student teams to develop Al-based mapping systems and advanced code solutions. This experience underscores my dedication to fostering industry-relevant skills and driving technological advancements.
