Was instrumental in getting the NABH-Blood bank accreditation in the yera2009 for Max Hospital Blod bank-was amongst the first blood banks to get this accreditation.•Ensure achievement of strategic objectives – Cost effective, highest quality services with minimal possible risks of transfusion.•Ensure smooth operations at the blood bank facility.•Coordinate with and counsel physicians, and provide information on emerging blood component therapy.•Actively arrange for training of technicians and staff nurses in blood transfusion services.•Donor management or development – maintain relationship with donors.•Identify skill, competency levels of subordinates and work for continuous resource development.•Inventory management – ensure availability of all stocks at blood bank keeping the inventories optimal.•Non moving and expiry stock management.•Maintain update knowledge on newer protocols in transfusion.•Ensure compliance of blood bank with licensing and certification needs. Develop transfusion medicine auditing tools.•Provide price and market linked information to management.Regularly plan societal marketing/promotional activities for the department
