ABOUT SAM MALTON
A registered pharmacist working in oncology medical affairs with a wide and varied experience. Oncology is my passion and I have held various positions as a clinical pharmacist and independent in oncology and haematology. I have also been an advanced practitioner, running clinics for patients with breast, gynaecological and prostate cancer on chemotherapy, targeted therapy or hormone therapy in a large teaching hospital, pushing the traditional boundaries of professional practice. This required advanced clinical skills and enabled me to complete my doctorate in chemotherapy toxicity. I have also been a Deputy Chief Pharmacist in a department with a headcount of 400 in a large Trust, developing my leadership skills. I moved in to Medical Affairs this year to explore a new career path and go get back to oncology. I am undertaking ABPI Final signatory training and have been lucky to be exposed to a number of development opportunities early on in a fantastic team. Communication is my strength and I love working with others at all levels. I’m keen to build my network and always like making new connections. I’m excited to see where a career in Medical Affairs will take me.
