About Sachin Gupte

Holds a Postgraduate degree in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Edinburgh and a Masters in Community Medicine (M.D) from the University of Mumbai. With more than 25 years of experience working in various positions of responsibility in Health & Nutrition sector, I now lead PATH\'s State Operations in India. I provide programmatic oversight to multiple portfolios that include programs across Neglected Tropical Diseases, Tuberculosis, Covid specific interventions, Family Planning, Nutrition and innovations around RMNCH with an over arching principle of Health System Strengthening and Government engagement at the core of it.I support our state heads and program teams across the states of UP, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Odisha, J&K and Manipur. As a senior leadership member at PATH, managing stakeholder relationships with the government, donor, partners and engagements for business development remain my major focus area.Strategic thinking, operational planning, public policy, grant making, thought leadership, team building, partnerships, communications and stakeholder management are areas of my special interests.I have been associated with development partners like Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization- NPSP, UNICEF, Family Health International and PATH. I have designed, executed and evaluated facility and community based public health programs in the past. My experience is in the thematic area of RMNCH, Nutrition, Polio Eradication, Strengthening of Routine Immunization, STI/HIV, infectious diseases, public health emergencies, women empowerment through health, financial and social inclusion and was a part of Tsunami disaster management team in Andaman and Nicobar islands. With fellowship in Occupational Health and Environmental Medicine, I have served as a Chief Medical Officer in a reputed Petrochemical Industry ensuring safe occupational and environmental practices in the hazardous industry. Before joining PATH in June 2019, I have served Bill & Melinda Gates foundation for little over three years, spearheading Nutrition and Community Engagement (Women\'s Self Help Groups) portfolio in UP & Bihar. I was also associated with FLW theme briefly at the foundation as Country Lead for FLWs. I worked with Swades Foundation as Director-Health and Nutrition; I have also represented UNICEF as a Health domain expert for the state of Assam and worked extensively with NRHM Assam towards reduction of Maternal and Infant mortality in the state.
