About S. Krishna Kumar
I\'m a passionate entomologist who finds inspiration in bugs. Throughout my academic journey, I was deeply fascinated by insect-plant interactions, especially in understanding them through the sensory capabilities of insect antennae. Additionally, I have conducted field research across the East and West Khasi Hills districts of Meghalaya, studying insect and nematode pests affecting the GI-tagged Khasi mandarin. Currently, I work in the R&D sector, focusing on entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs), pheromone lures, and urban pest management, particularly for cockroaches, termites, and ants. My industrial career began with developing insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides through rigorous randomized block design (RBD) trials, which I have conducted across various regions in Karnataka. Subsequently, I transitioned to sustainable agricultural practices, actively promoting and supporting the farming community of South Tamil Nadu in adopting biofertilizers and bio-insecticides as alternatives to chemical inputs.
