These areas are the the priority issues in Transfusion Medicine in India. I am also involved in the newer concepts in sciences related to transfusion medicine like transplantation science, stem cell biology and cellular therapy by active participation in basic and clinical research. Research and innovation in basic sciences and their application to bedside clinical knowledge is an important area which needs to be addressed by transfusion medicine specialists in India. These developments also have a potential to generate a felt need for specialist transfusion medicine professionals inclined towards research with added training in transplantation sciences, stem cell biology and regenerative medicine, in future India. I look forward to opportunities of further training and intend to develop a good network and collaboration with like-minded professionals. As a young professional in my field, I work with enthusiasm and commitment towards development of the field of Transfusion Medicine.
