At UCSF Health, we are revolutionizing patient access to healthcare through technology, centralizing essential services including registration, referral management, external record retrieval, insurance benefit eligibility, prior authorization, scheduling, and clinical inquiry to alleviate the administrative load on our clinicians, improve system productivity, and most importantly, ensure timely healthcare is more accessible for all our patients. As an associate director, I collaborate with \'Clinician Champions\'—clinical faculty leaders from each department in our health system—to drive this transition, developing and implementing new protocols for better care and cost efficiency. My role centers on quality improvement, clinician training, strategic planning, and change management. I also focus on facilitating both horizontal and vertical communication to optimize operations within our healthcare system.
