ABOUT REBECCA BEECH
Dr Rebecca Beech is a Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Marketing at Oxford Brookes Business School, Oxford, UK. Her research is positioned at the intersection of digital marketing and sustainable marketing, with a particular focus on encouraging pro-environmental consumer behaviour, sustainable consumption, online knowledge sharing, activism, and the role of influencers.Her past and current funded research projects include:1.(October 2024 - ongoing) Using an experimental research design and case study approach, this study explores the impact of luxury fashion brands AI influencers on consumers’ sustainable consumption intentions and attitudes.2.(July 2024 – ongoing) Using an experimental research design to examine the influence of AI versus human influencers’ sustainable messaging on social media, and how this affects consumers’ sustainable consumption behaviours related to clothing.3.(May 2024 – May 2025) A qualitative study exploring UK consumer perceptions and barriers to renting everyday clothing, with the aim of developing an effective business model for renting everyday clothing.Dr Beech also holds leadership roles in external learned societies. Including the British Academy of Management, as a Council Member, co-founder and co-lead of the Early Career Academic (ECA) Network, and as a Early Career lead at the Marketing and Retail Special Interest group (SIG). The Macromarketing Society, Rebecca co-leads the Early Career Scholars. Academy of Marketing, Rebecca co-leads a strand titled ‘Responsible Futures’ on the Marketing Education Special Interest Group (SIG). I was awarded Senior Fellow in Higher Education in July 2025, and I was awarded the External Examiner qualification from Advance HE in December 2022. I am currently an External Examiner at Solent University, UK (August 2024-Present).
