Currently working as a GP Trainee / Family Medicine Resident at Sheffield University Teaching Hospitals with rotations in- Haematology, I had the privilege of rotating around various Harmatology department including, Myeloma team, Lymphoma team, Myelodysplastic team, and Coagulation team. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to look after patients undergoing CAR-T therapy and New Biologics being used to treat Certain types of resistant cancers. In addition, I worked closely with world reknown experts in the Firld of Hematology such as Prof.John Snowden and Dr. Josh Wright among many others who are known in the firld of Hemtolo-Oncology which provided me with a solid foundation knowledge applicable to primary care- Geriatrics / Frailty Unit, during this placement I was looking after patients who are acutely unwell with various co-morbidities with reversible causes or reaching the end of life. This rotation granted me the necessary skills to look our beloved elderly patients in the best possible way while considering quality of life on balance with active treatment- Respiratory Medicine. In this rotation I was able to review patients who are acutely unwell with various causes including chronic conditions, acute causes and malignancies. This rotation provides crucial knowledge for many common themes in Primary care presentations- General Practice / Primary Care Clinics. During my Primary care clinics I have my own list of patients with ranging complexities and backgrounds to look after. In addition, I was carrying out home visits to housebound patients who require a review and carry out Quality improvement projects, attend journal club meetings at the practice.
