ABOUT RAMYARANJAN DAS
Dr. Ramyaranjan Das is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India, and earned his PhD in Physics from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, Odisha, India. He is a materials researcher with five years of dedicated research experience in experimental condensed matter physics and materials science, specializing in small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), materials science, polymer physics, rheology and nanotechnology. His expertise encompasses the development and characterization of fibre-reinforced polymer composites, biopolymers, polymer nanocomposites, and advanced materials for applications in aerospace, automotive, electronics, and sustainable engineering.Dr. Das’s research focuses on understanding macromolecular structures, evaluating mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties, and exploring advanced manufacturing techniques such as cold plasma modification, chemical treatments, and additive manufacturing. He is proficient in a wide range of materials synthesis and characterization techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), SAXS, FESEM, AFM, Raman spectroscopy, FTIR, DMA, and EMI shielding measurements.He has an impressive record of publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals such as Industrial Crops and Products, Polymer Composites, Journal of Applied Polymer Science, and Biomacromolecules, with multiple works under review. His research achievements include receiving the IUCr Travel Scholarship (2024) to present at the International Small-Angle Scattering Conference (SAS2024) in Taiwan, multiple best paper and poster awards, and prestigious fellowships from the Plasma Science Society of India (PSSI) and the Government of Odisha.Dr. Das has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences and workshops, and has delivered invited talks, including at the 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Technologies, Energies and Materials (STEM’25) in Bangkok, Thailand. He is a life member of the Odisha Physical Society, the Indian Association of Physics Teachers, and the Plasma Science Society of India.Passionate about advancing scientific knowledge through innovation, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration, Dr. Das’s research continues to bridge the gap between fundamental science and applied technology in functional and sustainable materials.
