About Raghavan Vasudevan
With over 33 years of experience across 18 states of India, I am a Social Development Professional dedicated to building resilient communities, strengthening grassroots institutions, and enabling sustainable development. As the Founder & CEO of SUSTAIN, I have led large-scale CSR, CER, and ESG initiatives focused on water security, climate resilience, education, health, livelihoods, and environmental conservation.My work includes designing and implementing transformative projects such as watershed development, aquifer recharge, water body rejuvenation, rainwater harvesting, climate-smart agriculture, school and village adoption programmes, and comprehensive health & HIV/AIDS interventions. Under my leadership, SUSTAIN has created 1500+ crore litres of groundwater recharge, implemented 201 artificial recharge shafts, supported 61 villages, and delivered impactful solutions in partnership with leading corporates and development agencies.I have previously led state-level programmes with the Global Fund, managed 45 NGOs/CBOs across Tamil Nadu & Puducherry, and coordinated national research studies on public health, human rights, migration, trafficking, WASH, and livelihoods. My work spans collaborations with the World Bank, UNDP, ADB, WFP, NHRC, CRS, CAPART, and multiple government departments.I hold a Ph.D. in Human Rights, an M.Sc. in Environmental Management, and continue to engage in sustainability studies. I am passionate about community-driven change, capacity building, natural resource management, conservation, and empowering vulnerable communities. My mission is to design scalable, evidence-based solutions that strengthen ecosystems, enhance livelihood security, and create long-term social impact.
