ABOUT RACHEL BRITTON

I am an experienced clinical leader and consultant pharmacist with over 20 years’ experience leading transformation, governance, and innovation across the NHS, third sector, and biotech industries. As Clinical Director at VIA and We Are With You, I have shaped national strategies for substance misuse and mental health services, building empowered multidisciplinary teams and ensuring safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care.My work bridges policy, clinical practice, and system design. I’ve collaborated closely with NHS England, the Home Office, CQC (as a CQC Registered Manager), and local commissioners to drive high-quality care, improve outcomes, and influence national standards. Alongside my leadership roles, I provide consultancy to emerging life sciences and harm reduction projects, offering expert guidance on regulatory compliance, clinical models, and risk governance.I have expertise in social science research, clinical training and development, and regulatory matters relating to the Misuse of Drugs Act.I am Advanced Practitioner and independent prescriber with significant experience in Primary Care, addictions and chronic pain management.I’m passionate about reducing health inequalities and developing resilient teams and systems that make meaningful, lasting impact.
