ABOUT QAISER JAVED

Dr Javed is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He completed his postgraduate training in Psychiatry at Oxford and the Mersey Deanery, earning a Certificate of Completion in General Adult Psychiatry. His professional pursuits include a PG certificate & Diploma in Personality disorder, and a Master’s in research in Personality disorder. Javed\'s clinical expertise lies in the field of Neuropsychiatry, Delusional Infestation, Traumatic Brain Injury, & Alcohol Related Brain Injury. Furthermore, he has received training in Cognitive & Psychodynamic psychotherapy, which has aided him in his clinical practice.He has a keen interest in service development, teaching, training, and research. He is an MRCPsych (CASC) examiner at the Royal College of Psychiatrist, London, examiner for undergraduate medical students, and an approved trainer for core and higher trainees in GAP. Javed\'s research has been widely disseminated in peer-reviewed scientific journals, & he has presented at local and international conferences, including the American Psychiatric Association and the Royal College.Dr. Javed\'s contributions to the field of Psychiatry have been acknowledged & celebrated, with him being nominated for the Positive Achievement Award by the Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust in 2019. His clinical practice is based in the National Health Service since 2007 and as a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist working in Liaison Psychiatry since 2016. In this capacity, he is concerned with the management of mental disorders in general medical settings. Furthermore, he runs one of the few Joint Psychiatry & Infectious Disease Clinics for Delusional Infestation that exist internationally with the Infectious Disease Consultant at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.He currently serves as the Clinical Director for Urgent Mental Health Services, and formerly held the positions of Deputy Clinical Director, Clinical Audit/Quality Improvement lead, and Guardian of the Safe Working Hours.Dr. Javed\'s multicultural upbringing and experiences have shaped his practice philosophy. He strives to connect with his patients on an empathetic and compassionate level, given his diverse background. His core principle is to ensure that patients have a comprehensive understanding of their disease and the available treatment options. He aims to ensure that patients leave his care feeling confident in the treatment they have received.
