ABOUT PRAKASH C. SAHOO
Dr. Prakash C. Sahoo is a Sr. Research Manager at the IndianOil R&D Centre, Delhi-NCR, with 15+ yrs of experience across applied R&D, tech development, and industrial implementation. He holds a PhD from UST (South Korea), and an MBA (Intl. Business) from CU, enabling him to effectively link science with operational and business needs.He has been involved in planning and execution of R&D programs in CCUS, bio-/nano-enabled alt. fuels, refinery gas mitigation systems, biomimetic catalysis, and hydrocarbon waste bioremediation. His role focuses on coordinating multidisciplinary teams, milestone tracking, and supporting lab-to-pilot/commercial scale-up.Dr. Sahoo has authored 40+ peer-reviewed publications and is a co-inventor of 70+ patents filed across multiple jurisdictions. His team’s work has been recognized with the FIPI Award 2023 for initiatives in CCUS and the “Best Green Process” Award at the FICCI Chemicals & Petrochemicals Awards 2024. He was also conferred the Excellence Award in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (<40 years) at IOGCA 2025. In addition, he is a Senior Member of the International Association for Carbon Capture (IACC), UK, and a Chartered Chemist (CChem) of the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK.Earlier in his career, he was a BK21 Plus PDF at KAIST, participated in the UST Overseas Exchange Program-2013 (France), and received multiple best presentation awards. He is also recognized as a Solar Chartered Engineer (SESI).In addition to technical work, Dr. Sahoo supports resource planning, internal stakeholder coordination, external partner engagement, and preparation of tech. docs, patents, and SOPs. He values teamwork, clear communication, and practical problem-solving, with a focus on delivering reliable, scalable solutions for sustainable energy and environmental performance.
