ABOUT PIYUSH YENKAR

With over 23 years of pharmaceutical research experience, I am the Head of Research and Development at Bristol Laboratories Ltd, a leading UK-based generic drug manufacturer. I hold a PhD in Pharmacy from Amravati University and an MBA in Marketing from the same institution. As the Head of R&D, I provide strategic and operational leadership for the overall product development at multiple locations and manufacturing activities. I have a sound knowledge of the regulatory scenario and a core competency in product development and coordination with various teams, such as formulation development, technology transfer, analytical development, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, marketing, legal, clinical expert, and contract manufacturing organisations. I have a proven track record of successful generic product development for multiple territories, including the US, EU, CAN, AUS, BRA, and emerging markets. I have also headed a contract research organisation for end-to-end development and transfer of API and finished products to global clients. My technical expertise includes formulation and process design and evaluation, scale-up, registration, and commercial validation. I have also contributed to the R&D direction and product pipeline selection of the company, based on the international market trends and business growth objectives. I have experience in departmental affairs, such as planning, budgeting, manpower management, recruitment planning, quality, and compliance. I have also been involved in the new R&D and small scale GMP manufacturing plant set up. I am passionate about leading pharmaceutical research and innovation and delivering high-quality and cost-effective generic products to the market.
