Plan/conduct professional staff rides of Civil War battlefields in the Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and DC area. Focus is on strategic and operational dimensions of overarching war strategies, campaigns, and battles through the study of leadership and decision making, logistics and resources, mobilization, intelligence, and key principles, virtues, and theories of warfare. Also conduct targeted rides that address intelligence, signal, logistics, medical, cavalry, artillery, and women in the Civil War. To date, conducted nearly 250 staff rides at Gettysburg.
