Teaching, Research, and Service.I currently teach Evidence Based Practice and Research to Master of Science students seeking their degree in occupational Therapy. Additionally I supervise 8 students each year in their Masters research. To support my research I hold a position as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Surgery in the IU School of Medicine. In this capacity I conduct a variety of research projects with my graduate research students around the recovery challenges post-liver transplantation. My second area of research is with the development and standardization of the Role Checklist Version 2: Quality of Performance. I am leading an International group of researchers from 5 countries, UK, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway and Japan, to establish cross-cultural validity. In addition to this group of six, we have over 75 therapists nationally and internationally who are interested in collaborating on research to translate the tool, and/or to impliment in their practice.Service: In addition to University service, my time of late is mostly occupied as the co-Chair of the 4th International Institute of the Model of Human Occupation which we will be hosting on the IUPUI Campus in October 2015. ABOUT PATRICIA J SCOTT

In Resilience, Patricia J Scott shared the strategies she used as an occupational therapist to not only handle multiple major health challenges but to live a productive and satisfying life. Her experience of the challenges to her health including 2 liver transplants, spinal cancer, misplacement of a central line resulting in a stroke, and cryptogenic autoimmune pneumonia, among others, was daunting but she never let it get to her. Dr. Scott\'s research is on role identification, and her primary role became threatened when she was 28 years old. One role she had no readiness for was the patient role, and this book is designed to prepare others facing the \"Patient role\". She includes her experiences, decades of her research on recovery strategies, and vivid personal experiences. ANYone interested in the patient experience will find this book a treasure. Also The Role Checklist Version3 is now available! After 10 years of research and development to assure solid psychometric properties, a month in Italy to write the manual enabled publication. The Rcv3 is available from the MOHO Clearinghouse. https://uic.flintbox.com/#technologies/b28ebf11-e747-45da-a6ee-a40da7f4b9c1 This revision is to Oakley\'s Role Checklist first published in 1986. The original version is available in 15 languages and has long been part of standard practice for occupational therapists across the world. This new version is currently available in Mandarin, Icelandic, and Arabic. Six other translations are in progress. The plan is to cross the globe with translations of the RCv3! The vision is to establish the Role Checklist Version 3 as a globally accepted valid measure of participation.
