About Patricia Gonzalez
With 17 years of experience in the field of education, Dr. Patricia Gonzalez (she/ella) currently serves as the Assistant Dean for Access & Community Engagement in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder. As a member of the executive leadership team, her primary responsibilities include the strategic planning and implementation of inclusive programming and practices focused on the strategic organizational development, persistence and retention for all students, faculty and staff.Dr. Gonzalez holds a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California, a Master’s in Higher & Postsecondary Education and Administration from Columbia University, and a Bachelor’s in Government and Philosophy from Franklin & Marshall College. As a proud mother of her two-year-old son, Mateo, and a native of South Central Los Angeles, Dr. Gonzalez is the daughter of Mexican parents and the first of eleven siblings to attend a four-year college. She is committed to using social justice as a platform to enhance awareness, access, equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging within organizations. Her work focuses on uplifting and empowering individuals beyond their circumstances, maximizing individual and organizational performance, increasing retention and persistence, and instilling self-worth and a sense of belonging among all.
