As a Senior Principal Scientist and power system researcher with over 19 years of experience in power system protection, control, fault location, monitoring, and renewable energy domains. I am inspired by the job I do because I get to translate innovative ideas to build leapfrog products and solutions that enable a flexible, smarter, resilient, and greener power grid, which will provide sustainable and affordable electricity to every human being on the planet. I love to build and maintain an environment for creative idea generation and take measures to safeguard innovation. Coming from a small village and childhood without electricity, Today, as a researcher, I invented many algorithms in power system protection, fault location and monitoring domains which combines state-of-the-art digital technologies and domain principles to improve security, reliability and accuracy of the protection and fault location, while minimizing errors due to manual settings. These revolutionary concepts and advanced algorithms are aimed at enabling the cleaner energy ecosystem of the future.KEY HIGHLIGHTS-Deep expertise in research strategy preparation, convert research ideas into technology projects with clear business cases, deliver high quality results to the business units-Expertise in preparation of research proposals based on competitor analysis & IP landscaping and prioritize & execute research proposals based on business and strategic value with strong project management skills-Deep technical knowledge in power system protection, automation, fault location, control and monitoring application for complex power transmission networks including mixed, multi-terminal and series compensated lines, inverter-based resources (renewables)-Expertise in Power System and Renewables Modeling, Applied Mathematics, Signal Processing, Time and Frequency domain analysis, Optimization, and Machine Learning-Participation and strong contribution in various national and international standard committees, working groups (CIGRE, and ISGF) in power system protection, fault location and monitoring areas-Supervised 15 master and 2 Ph.D. thesis’s and 5 of them received power system POSOCO award and experience in setting up university collaborations (IITs and NITs)-Delivered various invited technical talks in academic institutions, customer sites, internal, external organizations and various international conferences-Filed 54 patents and published 70 peer reviewed international (15-Journals and 55-conference) papers.
