ABOUT NICHELLE RIVERS

Dr. Nichelle Rivers is a distinguished K-12 educator with a wealth of knowledge, skills and abilities in human resources, diversity, equity and inclusion training, program management, curriculum development, curriculum auditing, budgeting and grant management. Dr. Rivers is a self-starting, go getter with a uncommon background in the field of education and currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for Eastern Suffolk BOCES. Dr. Rivers is a practicing visual artist and Creative Arts Therapist who brings not only a creative outside of the box thinking to human resources but a depth of knowledge in mental health. Dr. Rivers is a proven educational leader with over twenty-seven years of experience. She was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee and is a proud graduate of Tennessee State University a Historically Black College University, in Nashville, TN-where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Art and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration. Additionally, she holds a second Master’s degree in Clinical Art Therapy and Counseling from Long Island University. Lastly, she holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Memphis. She and her family reside in the Long Island area.
