ABOUT NAYAB RASOOL SYED
I am a mechanical engineer and postdoctoral researcher specializing in tribology, bearings, and machine elements, with a strong background in hydrodynamic and thermo-hydrodynamic lubrication, cavitation modeling, and numerical simulation of rotating machinery.I hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Tribology of Bearings) from IIT Guwahati and am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Tsinghua University, Beijing, where my work focuses on textured journal bearings, lubrication performance, and stability analysis.My experience includes the implementation of mass-conserving JFO boundary conditions and progressive mesh densification (PMD) techniques for improving computational efficiency in lubrication simulations.As an emerging research direction, I am exploring the application of Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) to machine elements, lubrication, and contact mechanics, with the goal of combining physics-based modeling and data-driven methods for efficient and accurate engineering analysis.I am open to academic collaborations, applied research projects, and industrial R&D opportunities that bridge fundamental tribology with practical machine design and industrial applications.
