ABOUT NANDANA KHARE

I am an accomplished educationist, researcher, and school leader with over three decades of experience spanning classroom teaching, academic coordination, and institutional leadership. Currently serving as the Principal of Navy Children School, Mumbai, I bring a strong blend of scholarly depth, classroom expertise, and strategic leadership to the field of school education.My academic background includes a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, a Master’s degree from IIT Roorkee, and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from the University of Mumbai. My research training has equipped me with strong analytical skills, a scientific temper, and a deep respect for inquiry-based and evidence-driven learning.I began my professional journey as a teacher, serving as a Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) for 10 years and later as a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in Chemistry for 11 years, teaching senior secondary students. Teaching Chemistry at the +2 level for over a decade gave me the opportunity to mentor adolescents at a crucial academic stage, guide students through board examinations, and design effective instructional and assessment strategies. Throughout my teaching career, I held multiple leadership roles as a coordinator and in-charge, contributing to academic planning, examination management, curriculum implementation, and teacher mentoring.In recognition of my dedication and contribution to education, I was honoured with the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Teaching by the Honourable Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Smt. Smriti Irani, a milestone that continues to inspire my professional journey.After extensive classroom experience, I transitioned into school leadership and have since served as Principal in two schools, leading academic excellence initiatives, faculty development, policy implementation, and whole-school improvement aligned with CBSE and national education frameworks. My leadership philosophy is rooted in ethical decision-making, inclusivity, collaboration, and a growth mindset.My core areas of expertise include educational leadership and school management, curriculum and assessment design, teacher professional development, quality assurance, documentation and compliance, inclusive education practices, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. At heart, I remain a teacher and lifelong learner, committed to creating learning environments that nurture curiosity, competence, and character.
