About Monica L. Debro
I am a highly effective nursing professional with an extensive amount of experience in nursing leadership, academia, and simulation. With previous experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing, I worked closely with the Director of Nursing on various aspects of the nursing program such as SPE, ACEN, policies, and procedures, meeting BON requirements. Working with the student population, I value the opportunity to provide learning experiences in didactic, skills lab, clinical, and simulation. I am currently seeking a position in which I can continue to utilize my background in nursing through nursing education and leadership. I love being a part of the future of nursing! I’m motivated to see students learn, grow, and successfully transition into the healthcare system to provide excellent patient care. My students truly understand how to think critically and seeing them have those “A-ha” moments, drives me to give 100% each and every day. SPECIALTIES: Organizational Leadership-Identifies strategic measures to ensure programmatic and organizational outcomes are met. Develops strategic initiatives and participates in planning and policy setting. Simulations and skills lab – helping to identify unique opportunities for improvement for each student. Performing individualized observations helps them overcome any skill gaps so they can provide safe, effective care to the community. I help develop nursing education curricula, systematic evaluation plans (to prepare nursing programs for national accreditation), program reviews, faculty/student mentoring, clinical coordination, and participation in admissions reviews (served as a lead faculty member for admissions committee at Carrington College).
