Dr. Attalla is a Professional Engineer who obtained both a Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Waterloo, Canada as well as a Masters of Business Administration from McMaster University. He is a Senior University Executive and possesses a wide array of professional responsibilities and experiences in areas such as Construction and Infrastructure Management, Facilities Planning, Financial Management, Real Estate Development, Human Resources Management, Information Technology, Industrial and Occupational Health and Safety, Building Sustainability, Energy Management, Campus Security, Parking Operation, Transportation, Shipping and Receiving and Strategic Team Leadership. Throughout his career, he held different positions leading of up to 1,300 union and management staff, and oversaw the delivery of the above functions in large and complex public service business & operations of 29 Million Sq.Ft of properties with an annual value of up to $800 million dollars and budget appropriation of about 4 Billion dollars. As part of his Academic activities, he served as an Adjunct Professor at University of Waterloo, Metropolitan Toronto University, McMaster University and the University of Illionos. He delivers different construction and project management courses, serves on Masters and Ph. D. committees and supervises and co supervises advanced graduate research.He conducted research and published over fifty papers in international journals and refereed conferences in different topics including Construction Management, Facilities Condition Assessment, Infrastructure Management and Sustainable Construction and Green Buildings. Also, he contributes as a Peer Reviewer for publications in different technical magazines. He also delivered several presentations and public speeches. Dr. Attalla served on different academic and professional committees in academic and business societies. He also received different awards and recognitions as outlined in the profile below.
