ABOUT MIRA LUGONJA KNIPPING
I bridge the gap between Japanese headquarters and international teams — where cultural misalignment, hierarchy and unspoken expectations create friction that slows decisions and strains trust. After 10 years living and working in Japan, including a government-funded doctorate at Tokyo University of the Arts, and 20+ years operating across Europe, I understand both worlds from the inside. I don\'t translate language — I translate context, intent and organizational culture. My work sits at the intersection of three disciplines:Facilitation — I guide high-stakes meetings, strategic projects and cross-functional processes so that all voices are heard, decisions stick, and Japanese and international stakeholders leave aligned rather than merely informed.Executive & Team Coaching — I work with leaders navigating complexity across cultures: role clarity, conflict competence, feedback, and leading effectively when the rules are different on both sides of the table.Nemawashi-based pre-alignment — Before critical decisions or projects, I support structured 1:1 stakeholder conversations to surface concerns early, prevent misunderstandings, and create the conditions for smooth implementation. This is not a workaround — it is how durable decisions are made.Organizations I have worked with include Hitachi, Toyota, Fujifilm, Sony, Nintendo, Mitsubishi Chemical, Kyocera and Sumitomo — at team, leadership and executive level.I am most effective in environments where the stakes are high. The cultures are genuinely different and someone needs to hold the space between them with both precision and trust. That is me. I am fluent in Japanese, English, German, Croatian and Italian.
