Founded innovative home for orphan girls in Kolkata, an inclusive non-institutional model of care for orphan children. Developed a model education program based on the needs of these severely traumatized children. Our experience over the last seven years has been that the children simply will not be accepted in school communities. This exclusionary and negative treatment makes it impossible for them to feel safe enough to learn, and to move from their paradigm where survival is always foremost on their minds. Some of the children have severe physical and mental disabilities, but all are fully integrated into the life of the home. We take advantage of the developing technologies in communication to enhance and enable the children to communicate and to participate fully in the life of the home.
