About Michael E. Coleman

Dr. Michael Coleman’s expertise lies in the area of educational leadership and educating students with special needs, especially African American males. For nearly two decades, Dr. Coleman has been a noted educator for the Camden City Board of Education. His experiences have allowed him to bridge the much discussed gap between scholastic theory and practice in a deliberate effort to draw upon the best practices associated with each to serve his students. Currently, Dr. Coleman services as an administrator in Camden City Schools. As a former Lead Educator of Special Education in the Camden City School District, Dr. Coleman managed a staff of professionals in order to offer exceptional learning experiences for students based on evidence-based practices. He has developed and implemented a number of professional development workshops for administrators, faculty, staff, and community members with a focus on co-teaching strategies and special education. In his former role as classroom teacher, Dr. Coleman noted the importance of developing strong relationships with his students, colleagues, parents, and community stakeholders.
