Dr. Melanie Johnson is an executive visionary who has been instrumental in the evolution of the state of Texas\' most iconic education entities- space, health, livestock and brain sciences. Her transformational leadership has increased brand and target market clarity, resulting in stronger fiscal positions of NASA\'s Space Center Houston, The Health Museum, the Texas Animal Health Commission and her current employer, Collaborative for Children.As President and CEO of Collaborative for Children (2018-Present), Dr. Johnson leads the state\'s largest region, the gulf coast region, in early learning enterprise systems building to improve school-readiness outcomes for under-resourced children ages birth to five. She leads 120 employees and a $12m-$17m budget and delivers metrics-driven outcomes through digital transformation. She was awarded “Most Admired CEO” by the Houston Business Journal (2022) and successfully led the organization to become a United Nations Economic and Social Counsel (ECOSOC) consultative member (2022).From 20••••18, Dr. Johnson served as President and CEO of the John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science (A.K.A. The Health Museum). She received the Pierre and Marie Curie Award in Nicaragua for devising programs for outliers in STEM in developing nations. She is featured on an episode of the Travel Channel\'s Mysteries at the Museum.The diverse composition of her educational credentials, including a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction (Ed. D.), a Masters of Hospitality Management (MHM) and a Bachelor’s degree in International Business (B.A.) from Auburn University provide her the ideal background to drive strong revenues for service industries. Collaborative for Children is a nonprofit agency that meaningfully improves the quality of early childhood education through the training and development of those most influential in the lives of young children. The agency began 31 years ago and works with parents, educators and local leaders to ensure that children in the region are prepared to succeed. Dr. Johnson\'s transformational leadership has led the agency to become a United Nations Economic Social Counsel (ECOSOC) consultative member to advise on a global scale.
