ABOUT MAYANK SINGH

I study how great powers compete — and how smaller states navigate that competition to their advantage. My research spans 11 years, rooted in three questions: How does the U.S. reorient its foreign policy when old assumptions no longer hold? What drives strategic transformation in the Indo-Pacific? And how do counterinsurgency failures shape the next generation of military doctrine? My doctoral research at JNU traced the complete reversal of U.S.–Vietnam relations (1995–2017) — from post-war estrangement to strategic partnership — and the role of economic diplomacy and geopolitical convergence in making that shift possible. My M.Phil. work examined U.S. military interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan, focusing on the gap between counterinsurgency doctrine and strategic reality on the ground. At Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, I teach Indian Foreign Policy, Political Theory, Western Philosophy, and Public Policy Design. I\'ve also taught at the Central University of Haryana and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, contributing to governance, constitutional studies, and research methodology.Beyond the classroom, I serve on the Technical Advisory Board of the Kalinga Institute of Indo-Pacific Studies and regularly engage in conferences, publications, and policy discussions on defense, diplomacy, and strategic affairs.I believe good scholarship doesn\'t stop at the journal article. The most important ideas are the ones that travel — into policy rooms, governance decisions, and the thinking of the next generation of leaders.
