ABOUT MAX MEISGEIER
I am fascinated by financial markets and their institutions. At Freshfields, I advise market-leading commercial and investment banks, FinTechs (e.g, neo-banks, neo-brokers, BaaS), payment services providers, investment fund managers and industrials on all aspects of financial regulation and related contract law (like T & Cs, required forms and documentation, fiduciary accounts)My practice covers transactional work, the representation of clients in BaFin/ECB/SRB proceedings and before German and European courts, as well as standalone advisory, e.g. with respect to the design of cutting-edge digital financial products.Recent work highlights include- Advising several banks on the setup of retail deposit accounts and regulatory implications (including the close coordination with product teams and relevant stakeholder like auditors or supervisory authorities)- Advising VIG on the public purchase offer for NÜRNBERGER- Representing a CRR credit institution before the European General Court.
