ABOUT MARIA IDREES
I was working as a Research Engineer on a prestigious project at the University of Alabama, USA in 2024. I am a tenured associate professor at the University of Engineering and Techbology Lahore, where I teach and supervise graduate and postgraduate students. I have over 12 years of experience in teaching and research. I hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Middle East Technical University, Turkey, where I was awarded the HEC overseas scholarship. I have reviewed for ACI Materials Journal, ASCE Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, ACI Structural Journal, Advances in Cement Research, Journal of Building Engineering, Construction and Building Materials, Environmental Progress and Sustainable Energy, Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, Structural Concrete.I am a certified HEC-approved Ph.D. supervisor.My mission is to develop innovative construstion materials and sustainable solutions for low-cost housing and infrastructure development, using special cements and polymer additives. I have won multiple grants and completed impactful projects in collaboration with national and international partners, such as the Technology Development Fund HEC, the Pak-Turk Project at ITU Istanbul, and the SRGP research grant. I have also published several papers and patents in this field, and I have reviewed over 35 publications and project proposals. I have skills in BIM (Revit and RSA), structural design, Python, and AI, and I am fluent in English, and Urdu, and may understand Arabic and Turkish.
