ABOUT MARCO STIEF
Marco Stief is a managing partner and head of legal at Maiwald. He is an internationally recognized expert in the field of intellectual property with extensive experience in patent infringement litigation. He regularly advises companies on complex IP transactions as well as on a wide variety of technology-related contractual matters. For several years now, Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) has listed Marc among the top 300 “World’s Leading IP Strategists” and among the top “World’s Leading Patent Professionals”. The German JUVE Handbook cites him as one of Germany’s eight leading patent lawyers under the age of 50, mentioning in particular clients’ appreciation for his pragmatic approach. In 2018, Who’s Who Legal included Marc in the circle of the six best patent litigators in Germany, and in 2020 identified him as a Legal Thought Leader. The German WirtschaftsWoche magazine hails him as one of the best IP lawyers in Germany and the best lawyer in the field of healthcare in the State of Bavaria. Marc teaches intellectual property law at the Technical University of Munich and Dresden, and contract and pharma law at the University of Marburg.
